Legendary is the only way to describe the H. Upmann brand, originated in Cuba in 1844. Today’s Dominican-produced Upmann appeared in the U.S. for the first time in 1975 and combines a medium-bodied taste with first-class construction and a consistency - even through a change in wrapper tobacco from Cameroon to Indonesia - which makes the brand a dependable favorite of smoker’s everywhere. The maduro-shade wrapper was introduced in this brand in 1998; maduro-wrapped cigars use a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and incorporate Mexican-grown leaves into the filler. Most shapes are available in boxes of 25, with the Monarch, Grande Maduro and Premier shapes available in boxes of 10. The small, machine-made cigars are packed in tins of 10 (aperitifs) and boxes of 60 (Demi-Tasse). The Great Discovery Series is a special group of glass-tubed shapes produced for Great Discovery’s of Houston, Texas.
